Conclusive proof that the Champions League draw was a FIX!

March 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Rumours fly that the Champions League draw was fixed, well the telling truth is being side-stepped clearly. A match like Chelsea v. Fenerbache…a little too convenient?

It’s the dream match, it’s like Celtics v. Lakers, Rangers v. Celtic, England v. Scotland.

Here is why the match is such a big one:

  •  The return of Nicolas Anelka to Fenebarche!
  • Avram Grant, from Israel, vs. a team from Turkey. A perfect match which echoes the political climate. Two of the most politically tumultuous countries available. A battle of self determination played out on grass.
  •  ALEX VS. ALEX. Yes not one, but two Alex’s. Fighting. To the death.
  • Colin Kazim Richards of Fenerbarche, used to play for Brighton. Who else played for Brighton? Only Chelsea’s integral superstar Steve Sidwell.
  • Kazim Richards scored the winning goal against P.S.V. . Who did PSV beat in the UEFA Cup? Tottenham! Where are Tottenham from? London. Where are Chelsea from? London!
  • Speaking of Tottenham, you may know Sergi Rebrov as a Tottenham flop. But no, he was a Fenerbache star. Who did he begin his career with? Only Dynamo Kiev, where he was the strike partner of Chelsea’s integral superstar,  Andrei Shevchenko.
  • It is…the ADIDAS BOWL!
  • Stephen Appiah plays for Ghana…who else plays for Ghana, Chelsea starlet, Michael Essien!

It is the perfect script, a little too perfect. UEFA clearly have the follow up to Escape to Victory and Goal! riding on the script of this game. It would be too important to risk not having this game happen at all.
